Beep, Beep! Walmart Shows its Philanthropic Drive with Gift
Jaxson put his foot on the “gas” pedal and carefully maneuvered the brand-new truck around the hallway, an oversized check in the car seat behind him – and a grin on his face. Jaxson’s test drive followed the presentation by Walmart leadership of $466,111 to Levine Children’s Hospital. Donated by associates and customers at more than 70 local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores, the funds raised came mainly from a six-week register campaign. That fundraiser ran from late August to early October 2017 – with the goal being to #helpkidslivebetter.

2017 marked the 30-year anniversary of Walmart’s relationship with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The organization certainly holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at Levine Children’s Hospital, with the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery named in honor of dedicated Walmart and Sam’s Club associates. Beyond this year’s incredible monetary gift, Walmart also gave the hospital two Ride-On cars – the Ram truck and a Frozen-themed sleigh – ensuring that Jaxson and many other LCH patients are guaranteed a little bit of fun amid what is often a difficult time.
For Walmart and Sam’s Club’s drive to help the youngest and most vulnerable among us, we offer our heartfelt thanks.
